Fundraising

We recognize that the education of children is our primary goal.

Fundraising philosophy

The administration, PTO and school advisory board have made a conscious effort to limit the number of fundraising events.

While fundraising provides an important supplement to the school budget and helps control tuition costs, we recognize that the education of children is our primary goal. The fundraising programs that we undertake are those that help strengthen our sense of community, stewardship and responsibility.

Pumpkin Run – 5k

Over the last thirty years, the Great Pumpkin Race has grown to be the largest, family-friendly 5K in the Pensacola area.  The long-sleeve shirts have become collectors items in the community, and the delicious pumpkin bread is enjoyed by all.

Traditionally held the first Saturday in November, the race is sanctioned by the Pensacola Runners’ Association and attracts approximately 1,200 participants each year.  Proceeds from the race benefit the school and are used to contribute to the capital improvements to the building and grounds.

Golf Tournament

The SHCS Golf Classic is an annual event hosted at the Scenic Hills Country Club. The event is a four-man scramble format with a putting contest and prizes for closest to pin, longest drive and straightest drive. Entry fees include green fees, golf cart, refreshments and an awards lunch.

Please check the school calendar for the date of our next event.

Lucky Hearts

A membership club sponsored by SHCS. It is a fun and simple way to support the activities and capital improvements of the school, with the chance to make a little money for yourself, too!

Membership entitles each member to a 52-week participation in weekly drawings for cash prizes. Drawings will be made each Monday by blind draw in the school office. On the first Monday of each month, the winner will receive one hundred dollars ($100). On subsequent Mondays, the winner will receive fifty dollars ($50). Names are put back into “the hat” so it is possible to win more than once off of the same ticket.

Trivia Night

Sacred Heart Cathedral School’s most exciting evening of the year. Join other school parents and parishioners for a fun evening including dinner, drinks, games, prizes and, of course, lots of trivia.

Come prepared with your best table theme and costumes. This evening promises to be a great time for all with proceeds benefiting facility upgrades at our school.

Registration begins in early January each year.
