Service Learning

Service to others is a necessary result of our faith and Catholic Social Teaching. Our students initiate and plan numerous service projects throughout the year and relate these service experiences to their faith through class discussions and reflections in humanities.

Service 1
Spiritual+Guidance+1

putting others first

In the past few years, students have prepared meals for families at Loaves and Fishes Soup Kitchen, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and Manna Food Bank.

They have cleaned up Sacred Heart cemetery, served students with special needs at the YMCA, volunteered at the Humane Society, worked with Chain Reaction Leadership Institute, participated in initiatives through Pathways for Change, and held fundraisers for various charitable groups like Pyramid Players, Rally Pensacola Foundation, and Catholic Relief Services.

Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.

An example to us all

Students have also assembled care baskets for the homebound of the Cathedral parish and supported the Cathedral’s Angel Tree project.

They have participated in the Relay for Life, supported St. Vincent dePaul charities, collected cans for the Cathedral food pantry and held fundraising events for Haitian Earthquake relief, Hurricane Harvey and Irma relief efforts, and supported their classmates in need during emergencies.
